We've reached the final blog post for iWrite brief 2 ! Here are my responses to three curated collections by my peers. Happy reading and ciao for now :)
Sara - Influential fit women on Instagram I really enjoyed Sara's curated collection mainly because I have 0 knowledge on anything fitness wise and I don't take any particular interest to fitness/health entered Instagram pages on the daily. This was a great introduction for me. I particularly enjoyed that every piece in her collection was well researched and focused a lot on the person behind the Instagram page. This made it feel less like she was marketing the Instagram pages but more like she was talking about something with genuine interest and desire to share helpful points about the Instagram pages. Overall I really got a clear sense of each of the pieces in her collection (the pictures also helped!) and I was also really engaged by the writing style. https://iwritesarakay.wordpress.com/ Savanna - Movies so bad, they're good This collection was a hilarious read. I've watched a fair amount of terrible movies however I have never been presented them in such a way as this collection has. Usually I deduce the movies as terrible and move on. I particularly like how light hearted and funny each post was. I found myself not only being informed of the movies but genuinely interested in looking them up. I also think her collection appealed to me because of the suggested context that she put the movies in (I.e enjoying them with friends, pizza, drinking) because I doubt these would be enjoyable at all watched alone and I never would have thought of giving terrible movies a go without her fun suggestions. https://savannaleehollie.wordpress.com/
Francis - Shinto and Buddhism I absolutely adored this collection. Japanese culture has always been fascinating to me though I have never really dug into the religious beliefs and customs. I felt like each little piece was a learning experience and journey for both the the writer and myself so the collection as a whole felt really inclusive. It is very informative and a more of a formal style of blog post but I think this type of expression suited (and is probably necessary )for this type of 'big' (religious) topic. I enjoyed that each piece was a visual YouTube video which I think is a great way to introduce heavy topics such as religion from the comfort of your computer screen. https://francisjpciwrite.wordpress.com/
